Amy who comes from the UK, trained intensively in dance at The Royal Ballet School and Central School of Ballet. Both of these schools were in London where she graduated with a Diploma in Dance and Related Studies in (2003).

During this time from the age of 14, Amy started Pilates, mat, and equipment classes to compliment and enhance her dance training. She danced professionally with the Hong Kong Ballet for five years. Shortly after, she embarked on her second career as a Pilates instructor while she also trained and qualified as a Mat and Studio instructor at Isofit, Hong Kong.

She moved to Beijing in (2008) and has been teaching at various locations including The Beijing Dance Academy to which she introduced Pilates, training, and educating the teachers as well as the students. Amy has also lectured at the Dance Science Convention in Beijing and continues to dance professionally. From the very beginning, she says "I noticed the increased body control and deep core strength I gained from practising Pilates." The 'wow' moment happened though after I was injured for 3 months, unable to dance and only be able to do daily Pilates practises.

Once I eventually started being able to get back into dancing I actually felt stronger than before the injury! I was turning with more stability, I was jumping higher, I felt like I was flying! From that moment I knew I wanted to pass the benefits and my education of Pilates on to others so that I could help them overcome challenges too. I am so happy that Beijing finally has a fully equipped, professional Pilates studio where clients can come and take class in a wellness environment and realize their body's full potential.
